Mockingjay Packs Quite a Punch
Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at 07:44PM I don't want to write a spoiler here, I'm too tired and spent from the emotional roller coaster of gobbling up the second half of Mockingjay in the last few hours. Wow, Suzanne is one superbly talented writer and I just hope anyone who stumbles upon this blog will read all three of her Hunger Games trio.
I'm sure there are those who will be disappointed, after all, the book has a love triangle. But at the very end of the book when Collins explains the choice Katniss makes I thought, "yes, that's it, that's why I've been so hoping this would be her choice." That said, however, it doesn't mean that Collin's was at all trite or cheap in her build up to the decision. All three books are about people, very young people, put in the place of having to make excrutiatingly impossible decisions because of the violence of the world around them.
If the book could, in some way, help quench our thirst for reality shows that celebrate the very worst in humanity I will be overjoyed.
