Re: April is Child Abuse Prevention Month – Anza Event Rentals Salutes the 22nd Annual Richstone Family Pier to Pier Walk
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Torrance, Calif. – On Saturday, April 25, members of the greater South Bay area are invited to participate in the 22nd annual Richstone Pier-to-Pier Walk to raise money and awareness for the Richstone Family Center and their mission of treating and preventing child abuse. Held during April’s “National Child Abuse Prevention Month,” the event begins bright and early with check-in starting at 7:30 am at the Manhattan Beach Pier. The walk starts off from the same point at 8:00 am, and is a round trip from the Manhattan Beach Pier to the Hermosa Beach Pier (about 3.4 miles). Pre-registration for the event is $25.00 and on site registration is $30.00. For more details visit

Why does Richstone Family Center host this walk?

• Because Child Abuse is reported on average every 10 seconds.
• Because more than 4 children die each day as a result of child abuse.
• Because YOU can make a difference!

The Richstone Walk began in 1987 as a small grassroots fundraising effort focused on encouraging involvement and participation from families and community members of all ages. Since then, the event has continued to grow with last year’s Walk attracting over 1,350 people. In 2008, the Richstone Pier-to-Pier Walk raised nearly $195,000 for the treatment and prevention of child abuse; community teams contributed nearly $45,000, corporate teams raised over $80,000, and local school teams brought in over $27,000 as part of the “Kids Helping Kids” campaign. This year, the walk’s top “Surfrider” sponsors include Abert Entity, Charles E. Thomas Company, King Harbor Marina, Providence Little Company of Mary Medical Center, Patman Meat Group, Wells Fargo Foothill, and Rescue Rooter.

Anza Event Rentals is delighted to be participating again in the Richstone Walk event supplying tenting and staging. Ryan Choura, CEO of Anza Event Rentals and the parent company Choura Venue Services notes, “Life is precious but fragile. Our company believes in protecting the innocent, especially children, and supporting those organizations doing something proactive about it. I’m extremely impressed with the Richstone Family Center and the wonderful work they do.”
