Who Do You Admire? Who Sparks You?

I'm thinking about who inspires me this weekend. I was so delighted to open my Yahoo this morning and see that Sandra Bullock had finally made a public appearance, and that she looked so marvelous, so radiant as she accepted Spike T.V.'s "Guys Choice Awards."
You see Sandra is my gal. She is one of my favorite examples of how an actress can be as a human being even in the most glaring of media spotlights. No, I do not know her (we just share a birth year and a similar chin). I have seen her just once, here in Long Beach (like others I can confirm that she is just as stunning in person with the most amazing skin), but after Speed, like many of us, I was hooked. What I like and admire about Sandra is that she comes across in interviews as very authentic in her caring about the world at large, in her understanding that Hollywood isn't everything.
Sandra has gone through something in the past several months that most of us wouldn't wish on our worst enemy. She is such an incredibly private person that I once read she coded her own journal entries to the point where even she couldn't remember who the heck she was writing about. And yet, in the past several years, she thought she had finally found the love of her life, a man who "had her back" and announced it publicly to the world - only to find that sadly it was not the case. But instead of firing back as her ex went very public with his apologies, and his side of the story, she instead remained mostly silent.
Could I have behaved so well had I been put in the same situation? Could I have remained quiet? Probably not, but as a publicist I can say that it's been a very wise choice.
As part of my personal transformation month I've been refocusing how I offer my talents and skills with a summer special for creating synergy and synchronicity with social media and public relations. It's a great deal and a great way to either kick start a business idea, or refresh and relaunch one that needs some love.
With this in mind I have been watching video interviews of the business coach Danielle LaPort of White Hot Truth fame. How can I not admire the sense and sensibility of a woman who comes up with such a great name for her business and then embodies it? How can I not admire a woman who proclaims creative sovereignty is bliss? I agree. I so hardily agree.
Danielle comes from such a place of authenticity that she allows you the space to find and express that from within for yourself. And really, is there anything better than someone who makes you feel it's okay to be you?
And how does this help me clarify my own skills and get down to the heart of the matter I want to share with others? For me public relations and social media all boil down to great story telling, sharing your truth in creative and inspired ways, getting clear on not only how you want to feel living and expressing your business, but also how you want others to feel experiencing it.
